LOOKING BACK ON AN AMAZING #GGJ19 WEEKEND
48 HOURS OF GAME DEVELOPMENT, CONNECTIONS, FRIENDSHIPS, GLOBAL COMMUNITY AND FUN!
Have you ever participated in a Global Game Jam (GGJ)?
Let us share our experience with you. We joined this year’s event as site organizer and definitely had a marvelous weekend together with 30 fantastic jammers at Creasaur. Our teams of jammers consisted of game developers and game designers but also artists, animators, engineers, all kind of creative minds developing games, networking and having fun!
#ggj19 took place at 860 jam sites all around the world and united 46.990 jammers, who’d been working for 48 hours on developing original games based on a main theme. 8.967 games have been created worldwide on this year’s theme: What home means to you.
We welcomed our jammers at our site (Creasaur’s #home) on Friday afternoon for officially kicking off the jam with the #ggj19 keynote.
After some brainstorming and the creation of 7 spectacular teams, the game development marathon began. Energized by Tai Chi sessions in the mornings, a worldwide live streaming from our site on Saturday afternoon and a little table soccer tournament in between, Team Creasaur and our fabulous jammers spent an unforgettable weekend together.
8 beautiful and joyful games have been developed at our site and we’re so proud of the progress we’ve seen over these 2 days. After the game uploads and a showcase of each project, we couldn’t let our jammers go without a Creasaur Band concert and a farewell party for extending the 48 hours together a bit more.
Thank you to all the jammers and sponsors and most of all a big thanks to Global Game Jam, Inc. for making this extraordinary experience possible!
